Communication alumna and "Vibrator Nation" author Lynn Comella, draws from her recently published book about the history of feminist sex-toy stores to discuss the challenges that progressive retailers face as they attempt to balance profitability and social change in a rapidly expanding and increasingly competitive sexual marketplace.

Comella, a graduate of the Communication Ph.D. program, is an associate professor of gender and sexuality studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is the author of "Vibrator Nation: How Feminist Sex-Toy Stores Changed the Business of Pleasure" and co-editor of "New Views on Pornography: Sexuality, Politics, and the Law."
