Sweat For Clean Water 6K

As a chapter of Engineers Without Borders, EWB UMass strives to carry out the parent organization’s mission: "EWB-USA builds a better world through engineering projects that empower communities to meet their basic human needs and equip leaders to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. EWB-USA’s vision is a world in which every community has the capacity to sustainably meet their basic human needs."
With EWB UMass's Sweat for Clean Water 6K, the chapter's goal is to show how far women travel to get clean water in African countries. An average of 6 kilometers everyday while carrying up to 20 liters of water with them is what they endure. Dr. Nick Tooker will be carrying 1 liter of water for every $100 donated; he'll carry up to 20 liters during his run while livestreaming it on the EWB UMass Instagram on Monday evening. Follow @ewb.umass for updates and to view it!
This virtual event will take place in your local area! Do your 6K wherever you please while complying with safe COVID-19 practices.
All proceeds will go towards both the Ghana and Kenya projects within the University of Massachusetts Amherst Student Chapter. Purchasing supplies for remote implementation projects due to COVID-19 and for future travels is where donations will play a huge role in the scope of how much work we are able to get done in country.
