An enterprising group of undergraduate researchers working on cutting-edge projects will present a joint poster session as part of the summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU). All the posters will be on display for visitors, and the student researchers will be available to explain each project in understandable language for nonscientists.

The group of researchers includes 15 students from the Colleges of Engineering and Natural Sciences REU Wind Energy IGERT Program, all funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), and various other undergrads from the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation and the UMass Amherst Departments of Physics and Chemistry.

All REU students perform independent summer research under the mentorship of faculty and graduate students, participate in seminars and professional development activities, and present their research to a broad scientific and engineering community.
