February 4—February 18, 2020, Tuesdays 6:30 pm
New Africa House
Room: 203
UMass Amherst Campus
The Arts Extension Service’s Arts Entrepreneurship Initiative and the Women of Color Leadership Network present... Reclaiming Your Creative Self: a three- part series of leadership development workshops. The series intends to cultivate leadership qualities through identity expression and radical self-care. Through exploration in three artistic disciplines – photography, spoken word, and movement based performance – participants will experiment with new modes of self-expression, identify avenues of self-care, and create a sense of community through dialog and reflection. Sessions are held on the first three Tuesdays in February 2020. You can attend one or all sessions:
February 4, Reclaiming the Selfie (Photography) with JuPong Lin, Interdisciplinary Artist;
February 11, Spoken Word with Dr. Flávia Santos de Araújo, Scholar and Artist; and
February 18, Evolving Identities (Dance/Theater) with Terre Vandale, Dance Artist & Arts Extension Service.
The series is partially funded by the Office of Equity and Inclusion and a Campus Climate Improvement Grant. Sessions are free and open to women and non-binary students, faculty, and staff.
