Each night during the Juniper Summer Writing Institute and Institute for Young Writers, acclaimed faculty and writers in residence read from their new and selected work. On Sunday, June 18, come hear Joy Williams and Emily Pettit.
The authors' books will be available for purchase from Amherst Books and readings will be followed by book signings. There is plenty of free parking and the event is in an accessible venue.
Pettit is a poet, artist, editor and teacher, and the author of Goat in the Snow. She has taught and lectured at Columbia University, the University of Iowa, the University of Massachusetts, Elms College and Smith College. She is an editor for Factory Hollow Press and jubilat.
Williams is the author of four collections of stories and four novels, including The Quick and the Dead, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, and a book of essays, Ill Nature, which was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award.
