Caroline H. Yang is an assistant professor of English at UMass Amherst. She is the author of The Peculiar Afterlife of Slavery: The Chinese Worker and the Minstrel Form, which examines the intersecting histories of blackface minstrelsy and representations of Chinese workers in U.S. literature during and after Reconstruction. Her other scholarly publications can be found in Modern Fiction Studies (MFS), MELUS: Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States, the Journal of Asian American Studies, and Asian American Literature in Transition Volume I (1850-1930), forthcoming from Cambridge University Press in 2020.
