An Open Call for Art Submissions: Reimagining the Asian American Diaspora

The Yuri Kochiyama Cultural Center is sponsoring an art exhibition in conjunction with a student project about Asian American art. The theme of this art exhibition is reimagining the Asian American Diaspora, especially issues related to intergenerational trauma and colonization. Please share this email or the attached flyer.

We are having an OPEN CALL for art submissions. We are accepting all kinds of art pieces from Asians, Pacific Islanders, Desi, Arab Americans.

Submissions may be any interpretation of the theme and related issues. The art exhibition is going to be held during the week of April 3. Feel free to submit numerous pieces.

Deadline to Submit: March 14, 2017 at 5 p.m.  

Please email the with the subject line “Art Submission” and the following information:

Affiliation (College, Organization, etc.)
Artist Statement (Optional)
Name of art piece
Description of the piece (media, dimensions, etc.)
A sentence or more about the piece and how it relates to the theme

Attach pictures of the piece
