Professor John H. Bracey, Jr., has taught in the W.E.B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst since 1972. During the 1960s, Professor Bracey was active in the Civil Rights, Black Liberation, and other radical movements in Chicago and participated in the 1963 March on Washington.

Professor Bracey will be interviewed about his experiences by journalist and podcaster Jonathan Kermah ‘20. Kermah created the Amherst Wired Podcast Network, with a focus on diversifying student content beyond the written word. Together, he and Professor Bracey will discuss the original March, and what August 2020 March means at this moment in history, prior to the speakers in Washington DC taking the stage.
