“The Transnational 1948 War for Palestine”: A lecture by Shay Hazkani.

Shay Hazkani is assistant professor of Jewish Studies at University of Maryland College Park. His talk centers on the soldiers who fought in the 1948 war - Israeli, Palestinian, Moroccan, Iraqi, Egyptian, Syrian, and Lebanese – based upon sources including troves of letters sent home by soldiers.
