The College of Nursing is delighted to present the following talk by new Assistant Professor, Dr. Carrie-Ellen Briere: "Human Milk Stem Cells: A Research Trajectory in Breastfeeding Protection and Promotion."

Dr. Briere recently completed her postdoctoral training in a joint appointment with Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and University of Connecticut School of Nursing. Her clinical background is as a nurse in a level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Since learning about stem cells in human milk, Dr. Briere’s research the last 3 years has focused on the bioactive components of milk, specifically stem cells.
