Join the Office of Equity and Inclusion for an informational lunch on our "What if I Say the Wrong Thing?" by Verna Myers book group.

This is a safe and constructive environment for anyone who has have ever found themselves wondering if they've said the wrong thing or been culturally insensitive. Those who want to connect more effectively and be more inclusive to those around them should join the "What if I Say the Wrong Thing?" Learning Community Book Group.

Members will learn how to engage one another effectively and with respect, even when experiences or beliefs sharply differ. Overall, groups tackle questions that most of us have felt paralyzed by, such as "What should I say," "What should I do?" "How do I keep from saying the wrong thing?" "What do I need to know about myself and others to speak inclusively?"

If you'd like to host a group, we have facilitation and discussion guides for 5 meetings to help you get the conversation going and establish ground rules for discussion. You may, of course, meet as many times as you and your group would like!

The Campus Center is located in the middle of campus at 1 Campus Center Way. Parking is available in the Campus Center Garage.
