Join the Office of Equity and Inclusion for an informational lunch on our "Braving the Wilderness" by Brene Brown book group.

This is a safe and constructive environment for those who find it challenging to have discussions with people who have different life experiences or backgrounds. We may often feel we don't know how to relate to them, or are afraid we’ll say the wrong thing. This is particularly true when we’re talking with people whose beliefs or viewpoints we think will differ sharply from our own. While it may seem easier not to engage at all, avoiding interactions with them means passing up opportunities to build relationships and community.

If you'd like to host a group, we have facilitation and discussion guides for 5 meetings to help you get the conversation going and establish ground rules for discussion. You may, of course, meet as many times as you and your group would like! Attending the lunch does not obligate you to join a reading group.

The Campus Center is located in the middle of campus at 1 Campus Center Way. Parking is available in the Campus Center Garage.
