Why you?: Use the skills you have, and are developing, with professionals in Ghana. Cheerful Hearts Foundation staff have eight years experience placing students and professionals in ways that contribute meaningfully toward the CHF child health, child trafficking, and education projects, as well as, develop and inspire the volunteers/interns.
What We Will Do: Take educational excursions to museums, Du Bois Centre, city centers, markets, universities, and to local fishing villages; build networks and relationships with U.S. and Ghanaian students; and hear lectures from local professors and practitioners.
Objectives: Learn and explore the Republic of Ghana through history, cultural anthropology, and an intensive introduction to human rights and development from the Ghanaian perspective.Grow team-building and organizing skills while learning from CHF about grassroots community-capacity building, child trafficking, public health, policy, educational disparities, and mental health and learning disabilities in the Ghanaian context.
For You - Cost (TBA): Group lodging, lectures, naming ceremony, cultural excursions, supplies, etc. College Credit (optional): ask your advisor or Brittni about getting internship course credit. Ask about scholarships and financial aid.
The Campus Center is located in the middle of campus at 1 Campus Center Way. Parking is available in the Campus Center Garage.
