The Department of Music and Dance presents a guest artist concert by Brockowitz, featuring original compositions by pianist Phil Markowitz and violinist Zach Brock as well as contemporary arrangements of select jazz standards. The duo cuts across genres to create new environments for a contemporary improvisational chamber music.
Their music draws from jazz, world music, and 20th century composers from the classical world, creating a dynamic setting for the venerable violin-piano duo. Selections will include new premieres as well as selections from the Brockowitz recording 'Perpetuity'.
