The Graduate School is pleased to share plans for the Graduate Commencement ceremony. This year’s ceremony is aimed at celebrating graduate students who have completed this important and long-awaited milestone in their careers and still preserve public health and safety.

The ceremony will include addresses by Chancellor Subbaswamy, Dean Jacqueline Urla and two outstanding student speakers, and a photo tribute as well as the official conferral of = degrees. To protect everyone’s health, doctoral graduates will not be called onto the platform to shake hands hand and have their hoods bestowed as is normally done.

UPDATE

As announced by Chancellor Subbaswamy, in accordance with the Massachusetts Governor’s updated COVID guidelines we are pleased to tell you that graduate students will be allowed to invite two guests to the Graduate Commencement 2021, in person on Thursday, May 13 at 4:00 in McGuirk Alumni Stadium. While this year’s ceremony will not be a traditional ceremony, we want to offer a joyful occasion to celebrate this important and long-awaited milestone in your graduate career.

To abide by the public health mandates set by the Governor’s office, there will be no hooding ceremony. Mask wearing and social distancing will be required of all attendees, including graduates and their guests throughout the ceremonies. The ceremonies will be livestreamed for those unable to attend, or who wish to celebrate from a distance.

If you have already registered, you may add your guest’s information, including name, email and phone number by clicking update next to your reservation. Guests will need to be registered to enter the stadium on the day of the event. Please make the changes on this website by May 11, 2021.

If you have not registered and would now like to reserve a seat at the event, please complete this reservation form by May 11, 2021. You will need to enter the name, email and phone number for each of your two guests.
