Before moving to France as political refugee, Petr Pavlensky was the last and most radical artist in Russia. His bloody and challenging performances consisted of mutilating his own body. He sawed up his lips, wrapped himself naked in barbed wire in front of the prosecutor’s office, nailed his scrotum on the Red Square – he took down the border between life and art. But why do artists in modern Russia have to act against the political regime? What is the impact?
The Q&A will include the author (Darya Khrenova)’s story of the shooting of the documentary movie about Pavlensky: from the first steps to meet the main character to the final sentence of the court.
