FalCon: A Small Convention in a Tall Library

FalCon is the Libraries' first-ever multi-genre, miniature comic convention intended to showcase Library and University resources, offer networking opportunities, and create an enjoyable engagement event for the UMass Amherst community.

Artist's Alley: A showcase of artwork created by our talented UMass Amherst students and alumni.
Craft Space: Unleash your creativity with coloring pages, button-making, and more.
Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art: The museum will be displaying information regarding its newest exhibit, Out of the Box: The Graphic Novel Comes of Age.
Game Rooms: Come play some board, card, and video games, courtesy of the Game Hobbyists' League, Card Game Club, and Super Smash Brothers Club, respectively.
Green Screen Photo Ops: (Registration required; form forthcoming) Take a picture in our Digital Media Lab against a green screen with your choice of comic-themed background.
Reading Room: The UMass Amherst Libraries have been hard at work improving our comics and graphic novels collections. Take a look at our newest acquisitions.
RSO Showcase: Explore your passions on campus: get involved with some of our Registered Student Organizations (RSOs).
Scavenger Hunt: Find all the items on the list and earn a 3D-printed prize from the Digital Media Lab. First-come, first-served.
Special Drawings: Throughout the event, we will randomly select winners via their FalCon wristband numbers to take home a fantasy/science fiction book of their choosing. Winning numbers will be announced on the UMass Amherst Libraries' Twitter page, @UMassLibraries.
Zine Workshop: (Registration required; form forthcoming) Make your own zine, buttons, and more. Workshop provided by the Student Union Craft Center.
