Music and Dance Dept.

The Department of Music and Dance presents Of Friends and Strings, featuring Adriana Contino, cello, and faculty emerita Estela Olevsky, piano. Joining them is guest artist and former Olevsky Scholarship recipient Amanda Stenroos, violin. The program will feature works by Mozart, Beethoven, Robert Stern, Mendelssohn and Dohnanyi.

This performance is presented to benefit the Julian Olevsky Scholarship Fund. Donations are gratefully accepted.

Olevsky is professor emerita of piano at the Music and Dance Department. Link to bio.

Contino was professor of cello, baroque cello and chamber music at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany from 1991 to 2012, as well as principal cellist of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. Her father, Joseph Contino, was a pioneer band director in the Music Department in the 1950s.  Link to bio.
