Laurie M. Goddard: “On Hands and Knees”

Reception: Sunday, Oct. 15th, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

"On Hands and Knees," by Laurie M. Goddard, presents encaustic and mixed media works created from real and imaginary game boards.
Artist Statement:
These are imaginary board games, calling us out to play. They were conceived and executed over a few years while renovating a barn studio. They have checkered histories, some have missing pieces, they often have vague rules. Some of the boards are actual, some are depictions reconstructed from long languid talks with denizens of odd places I've visited.
Laurie M. Goddard was born in Montclair, NJ,  currently lives and works in Shelburne Falls, MA. Goddard received a BFA Printmaking from Moore College of Art, Philadelphia and has been working as a full time artist since 1987 with a focus on drawing and mixed media.
