Collage Workshop Featuring Synthia Saint James

As part of the Commonwealth Honors College's celebration of Black History Month, spend an evening with Synthia Saint James who will share her world recognized art and the themes that influence her work as she leads an improvisational collage workshop. 

Participants will utilize their imagination to create individual artistic designs. Mediums will include construction paper in various colors, photographic magazine cut-outs, and other materials. Supplies will be provided.

Refreshments will be served and online registration is required. Priority will be given to UMass students, faculty and staff.

Saint James is a world renowned multicultural visual artist, author and illustrator of 27 books, who has garnered numerous prestigious awards in her 45-plus year career. Saint James is most noted for designing the first Kwanzaa stamp for the United States Postal Service, and for the national and international cover art of Terry McMillan's book "Waiting to Exhale."
