Through partnerships with the Women of Color Leadership Network, the Center for Education Policy & Advocacy, our fellow cultural centers, this conference will bring together students and student organizations for a Saturday dedicated to building cross campus relationships, creating dialogue on issues that will foster a better campus climate and starting conversations that will cover intersectional identities.

Our guest speaker is Nathalie Amazan, a senior studying Political Science, Legal Studies, and Afro-American studies. She is a writer and poet who uses her platforms to discuss how we can transform justice and center visions for personal and communal liberation. Some of her experience at UMass involves co-finding the Prison Abolition Collective and the Restorative Justice Task Force; serving a term as the Vice President of the Student Government Association, sitting on the Afro-American Studies Undergraduate Council; working for the Stonewall Center, the Center for Education Policy and Advocacy, and currently interning with the Student Legal Services Office. She is finishing her Senior Thesis in which she is advancing a ‘Carceral Contract’ theory and proposing a praxis for abolition. She publishes poetry and prose regularly (or at least tries to) on her Medium blog and social media platforms @natamazan
