The 27th Annual Massachusetts Multicultural Film Festival presents a screening of a Selection of Short Films (Lindsay Eve Van Dyke, USA, Mexico, Guatemala, approx. 51 min, in English).

Lindsay Van Dyke is a UMass Amherst alum (’12) returning to campus now as a director and Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker to share with us four short film projects she has recently made. These films, documentary and fiction, follow respectively a Guatemalan family’s search for reunification after being separated under the Trump Administration’s immigration policy, a young woman seeking refuge in her family’s rural home in Mexico, a crew of young outcasts in violent pursuit of Nazis to brutalize, and a teenaged boy who finds himself the only able-bodied member of his multigenerational family, becoming their “teen caregiver.”

Filmmaker will be present.

Introduction by Bernadine Mellis (Mount Holyoke College).

Festival Director: Shawn Shimpach.

Festival Co-Curator: Daniel Pope
