Historical data sources like maps and aerial photos can be treasure troves for GIS users, especially if they want to map how the world used to look before modern infrastructure was built, or before natural events altered the course of rivers or changed where people could live. This workshop focuses on two sources of historical GIS data: maps and photos.

Artifacts at the End of a Decade is an unbound  artists’ book consisting of 44 unique pieces of photography, ceramics, fiber, print, clothing, painting, and drawing, contributed by artists including Martha Rosler, Laurie Anderson, Sol LeWitt, Michelle Stuart, John Ashbery, Robert Wilson, Lucinda Childs, and Robert Kushner, among many others.
