The Senior Recognition Ceremony is an important component of the university's official Commencement. It is an event at which each graduating senor receives individual recognition and is presented with a commemorative medal--now a decade-long tradition.

The College of Natural Sciences Senior Celebration allows the college to recognize graduates in a special way: graduates' names are announced as they cross the stage to shake hands with college leaders, and receive a commemorative UMass medal and a special farewell gift from the college.
