Dr. Derek Applewhite received his B.S. in Biology at the University of Michigan and his Ph.D in Cell and Molecular Biology at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Applewhite was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Biology Department at the University of North Carolina and currently is an Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Reed College in Portland, OR. Dr. Applewhite is interested in understanding the regulation of the cytoskeleton, the structure that helps cells maintain their shape
and internal organization.
