A Dialogue with the Collection exhibition.

Procheta Mukherjee Olson works in the format of miniature painting to explore the irregular and fluid terrains of multicultural exchanges in India. Although drawing heavily from Mughal and Persian painting traditions, the narratives in her paintings are wrought with allegories of postcolonial history, politics, and the visual and material culture of the nation in the age of globalization. In this talk, Olson will discuss her process and the ways in which in her work parallels the concerns of Yun Fei Ji’s Three Gorges Dam Migration (2009-10).
