The Amherst Community Band is a group of dedicated community members who gather together to practice and play an exciting repertoire of music each summer. This is a truly multi-generational band—octogenarians play alongside college students. The band is directed by Timothy Todd Anderson, director of the UMass Minuteman Marching Band (which has been invited to participate in the 2017 Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA). Anderson presents a wonderful back story to every arrangement with stories about the composers to enrich the experience for all.
