This presentation examines common sense ideas of modernity in Ghanaian popular culture. It explores the ways popular culture can be used to engender a decolonial consciousness.
As the modernity/coloniality project argues, a decolonization of the senses (through decolonial aetheSis) enables us to “decolonize the subjectivities controlled under the modern imperial aestheTics.”
The Marriott Center is located on the 11th floor of the UMass Amherst Campus Center.
