ABOUT ETA SIGMA PHI

"Eta Sigma Phi is the national honorary collegiate society for students of Latin and/or Greek. Members are elected by local chapters which have been chartered by the society. The purposes of the Society, in the words of the Constitution, are "to develop and promote interest in classical study among the students of colleges and universities; to promote closer fraternal relationship among students who are interested in classical study, including inter-campus relationship; to engage generally in an effort to stimulate interest in classical study, and in the history, art, and literature of ancient Greece and Rome."

Epsilon Omicron chapter is equally dedicated to promoting classical scholarship while providing undergraduates, with a classical interest, to associate in a comfortable forum. While participating in and creating  educational activities and providing social activities we hope to spread the word about the Classics major at UMass and entice people to become a member of our great society.

In the Past our chapter has created tutoring programs, went to classical plays, held banquets, dinner parties, advertised the Classics Major, movie nights, pizza parties and we are currently creating a classical introduction program for elementary school students. If you are interested in joining please see the link to the left on information on how to become a member.
