The ESL Program is excited to announce the following workshop:
TESOL Career Workshop: Pursuing Pathways in the Profession
NOTE: TIME CHANGE FROM ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT
In this workshop, we will explore the diverse career paths in the TESOL profession. Workshop participants will reflect on how these career paths might be relevant to them and their futures. The goal of this session is to provide participants with information on career options in TESOL and tools to help support them in the application and interview process.
Topics will include:
- Where to find TESL/TEFL employment
- The application process for opportunities like English Teaching Assistantships (ETA) with Fulbright and The Japan Exchange Teaching (JET) Program, etc.
- Creating a curriculum vitae
- Writing a teaching philosophy
- Putting together a teaching portfolio
- Tips on interviewing for teaching positions in the U.S. and abroad

Presenter:
Dr. Pamela Shea has a Ph.D. from UMass Amherst in Language Literacy and Culture and an M.A. in TESOL from SIT Graduate Institute. She has been a TESOL professional for over 25 years and has experience teaching and administering TESOL programs in the U.S. and abroad.
