Welcome to the Environmental Science Program.

The New England Board of Higher Education rated the Environmental Science Program at The University of Massachusetts Amherst as one of eight “excellent” programs in the region along with Brown University, the University of Connecticut, Dartmouth University, Middlebury College, Tufts University, the University of Vermont, and Williams College.

Faculty and students engage in exciting research dealing with local, national and global environmental issues and bring expertise from that experience into the classroom to enrich the learning process.

Environmental Science majors can gain practical experience and academic credit from Coop and Internship options in government and industry. Many of our majors have enhanced their education with National Student Exchange, study abroad, and field study programs.
