The Knight Sabin Forest is approximately 50 acreas and is located along the Pelham-Belchertown town line. The Quabbin Reservation lands lie immediately to the east of this forest. It was donated to the Department along with Cadwell Memorial Forest but is treated separately because it is disconnected from Cadwell. It is quite similar to Cadwell in being dominated by oaks and birches. The area has seen little if any management since it was donated to the University. It is used by the silviculture class as an example of how management could be initiated in a currently unmanaged stand.

Directions to the Knight-Sabin Forest:

Access to the forest is across a private landholding to the west of the property or from restricted Quabbin reservation lands to the east. Contact the Department (413-545-2665) if you would like access to the property.
