Renewable energy is rapidly expanding in New England, and Grace is investigating the ecological impacts of large-scale solar facilities in Massachusetts and New York. As part of a DOE-sponsored project, she is evaluating the pollination ecology at solar facilities through using a variety of field methods, including vegetation surveys, pollinator surveys and bioacoustic recording. Her research will evaluate and recommend best “pollinator-friendly” land management practices with solar facilities. Grace grew up in Northern California and received her BS in both Biology and Environmental Science from Willamette University in Salem Oregon.
