
TreaAndrea M. Russworm recently guest edited a special double issue, “Blackness and Play," of The American Journal of Play. This is the first volume on race and play in the journal’s history. The issue includes six interviews with African American toy makers, tech luminaries, and designers as well as seven articles on African American adult and childhood play, games like Uno and Spades, Black Twitter, and systemic barriers to play. Russworm solicited the submissions, edited the issue, and contributed the forward and an interview on hip hop culture and games.
