Ron Welburn, Professor Emeritus, has recently published several poems and reviews in multiple venues. His poem, “The Faces of the Basses are Cherry” was included in Brilliant Corners: A Journal of Jazz and Literature (25.2) in summer 2021, and “Crow’s Afternoon Guitar,” ''Siiva Moiiva'," “Flamboyan Magenta,” “The Road to Fort McLeod,” and “Postmodern Age” were published in the special music issue of the Yellow Medicine Review in fall 2021.

Welburn's review of The Indian in American Southern Literature (Cambridge UP) by Melanie Benson Taylor was published by CHOICE (58.9) in May 2021, and his review of Music on the Move (U Michigan Press) by Danielle Fosler-Lussier was also published by CHOICE (59.1) this past September. 

Welburn has also been included in several other academic engagements. From March to June 2021, the Montaukett Nation Women’s Book Club hosted six bi-weekly sessions of Ron discussing chapters from his book, Hartford’s Ann Plato and the Native Borders of Identity (2015. Welburn's book of poems, Council Decisions, (2012) was discussed by the Dawnland Voices: Indigenous Writing in New England group this past August. He was also one of four Indigenous poets in a webinar discussion and reading during July.
