Peter Gizzi has a poem featured until May throughout the New York transit system. His poem appears in trains and stations of the MTA, Metro North, and the LIRR. Poetry in Motion is a program that the Poetry Society of America cosponsors with the New York Transit Authority.
The poem reads:
Sunday's Empire
The roofs speak
as light over
the scaped silence.
A cacaphony
of shapes
kicks off into sky.
People live here
in the quiet
a day undresses.
Tones shaking out.
