Paperbark, the interdisciplinary print & digital magazine, steered largely by the English MFA program, was recently featured in HFA News. The piece includes an interview with Paperbark’s managing editor Evelyn Maguire, MFA ’23, and goes behind the scenes of the publication which focuses on the environment and ecologies, connecting art and science through poetry, prose, and visual art.

“It’s really great to put all of these people in conversation with each other,” Maguire says, “I think there’s been such a divide between ecological science and ecological art, even though they’re sharing the same goal which is to preserve and celebrate our planet, as well as to mourn, to grieve, and to say, ‘this is what’s happening.’”

Paperbark is currently accepting submissions for its online journal.
