Ocean Vuong's critically-acclaimed novel, On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous, has been awarded the 2020 Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Award, which is given annually by the Mark Twain House & Museum in Hartford, CT.

Vuong's novel has also been longlisted for the Massachusetts Books Award, whichrecognizes significant works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and children’s/young adult literature published by Commonwealth residents or about Massachusetts subjects.
