Kritika Pandey, a student in the MFA for Poets and Writers here at UMass Amherst, has been awarded the coveted regional award for the 2020 Asia in Commonwealth Short Story Prize for "The Great Indian Tee and Snakes," a story about love in an age of hatred and prejudice. Pandey had been previously nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
