The Juniper Initiative for Arts and Action has received a $10,100 grant from the Mass Cultural Council’s (MCC) Cultural Investment Portfolio to support its Visiting Writers Series, Juniper Summer Writing Institute, Juniper Institute for Young Writers and the annual Juniper Literary Festival.
“These offerings stimulate exploration of the arts and nurture a lifelong habit of active participation in literary endeavors,” says Randall Knoper, English Department chair. “They create a positive impact on the commonwealth, adding to the university’s long tradition of intellectual and educational leadership and community engagement. Annual grants from MCC also help Juniper leverage significant funds from private donors and foundations.” The Juniper Initiative for Arts and Action (JIAA) is housed in the English department’s MFA Program for Poets and Writers.
