Joseph Black has recently edited the collection The Martin Marprelate Press: A Documentary History, available from Tudor and Stuart Texts Series (2020).
This is an edited collection of primary documents, mainly from manuscript archival sources, connected with the search for the press that produced the Martin Marprelate tracts (1588-1589), the most notorious pamphlets of the English Renaissance. These documents offer an unrivaled source of detailed evidence concerning the day-to-day workings of an underground print campaign in the early modern period. The collection includes all the extant material connected with the controversy: several important documents included here have never been published before, and previously published documents are freshly transcribed as well as annotated and introduced.
Black has also co-edited Private Libraries in Renaissance England, volume 10. Tempe: ACMRS, 2020.
