Joseph Black has been elected President of the Renaissance English Text Society (RETS). The RETS is an association of scholars who work together to recover and preserve in carefully edited, unmodernized texts significant non-dramatic writings in English (including original works or translations) from the period 1475-1660.
Black's essay titled, "My own bookes: Women’s Libraries in Early Modern England" has also been included in the the edited collection Women’s Bookscapes in Early Modern Britain: Ownership, Circulation, Reading. The book is edited by Leah Knight, Micheline White, and Elizabeth Sauer and was published with the University of Michigan Press earlier this year.
