Emma Kucich '24 has been named a William F. Field Alumni Scholar. Emma completed a double major in English and Flute Performance and earned a certificate in Professional Writing and Technical Communication.
The William F. Field Alumni Scholars recognizes students for outstanding academic achievement, as well as their respective contributions to the arts, athletics, research, or service to the campus community.
Emma was nominated by two faculty, both noting her exceptional work ethic, intellectual capacity and authentic artistic voice on flute, in addition to her clear, cohesive and engaging writing. Emma is a highly competent flutist who holds herself to the highest degree of professional and interpersonal standards. Emma's knowledge and insights about several musical traditions, study of languages, a wide range of musical thought and literature, and the field of arts management make Emma a well-rounded performer and scholar.
Last summer, Emma’s talents landed her a coveted internship with Azenta Life Sciences in Burlington, Vermont, a company on the cutting-edge of genomic sequencing technology. Following graduation, she will begin work as a Technical Writer with AstroNova, a data visualization technology company based in West Warwick, RI.
