Elena Kalodner-Martin, PhD candidate in Composition and Rhetoric, recently published "Our Embodied Selves: Neurodivergent and Disabled Writers Navigating the Pandemic" in Journal of Multimodal Rhetorics alongside co-authors Millie Hizer, Liz Miller, and Dennis Etzel Jr.. The article is included as part of the Journal of Multimodal Rhetorics’ special issue on Carework and Writing During COVID-19 and focuses on difficulties neurodivergent and disabled writers face during the pandemic as well as creative and innovative ways they have responded to these challenges.

Kalodner-Martin’s research is at the intersection of the rhetoric of health and medicine, technical communication, and feminist studies. Her dissertation theorizes patient narratives on social media as a form of technical and technological expertise. She currently teaches writing in the disciplines courses in the College of Information and Computer Sciences and the College of Engineering.
