Elena Kalodner-Martin, PhD '24, has received the 2025 Computers and Composition Hugh Burns Dissertation Award for “Medical Evidence, Expertise, and Experiential Knowledge: A Study of Patients’ Communication Practices on Social Media.”

This is the third award Kalodner-Martin's dissertation has won. Earlier this year, Kalodner-Martin received the 2025 Coalition of Feminist Scholars in the History of Rhetoric and Composition (CFSHRC) Presidents Dissertation Award and the 2025 CCCC Outstanding Dissertation Award in Technical Communication.

Kalodner-Martin has also won the 2025 Kairos Graduate Student and Contingent Faculty Award for Service which is given to an individual whose work includes activities that promote excellent computers and writing pedagogy, theory, and community building.
