The Center for Teaching and Learning invites all UMass Amherst faculty members to the Teaching Showcase, a unique, lively and inspiring education event on Wednesday, March 12 from 3-5 p.m. in Old Chapel.

The showcase provides an opportunity to gather and talk about the wide range of wonderful teaching approaches on our campus and hear what colleagues are doing to engage students, support student success, foster wellbeing and more.

At the center of the event will be a “Sharing Showcase,” in which faculty from across campus share their teaching approaches. This year’s presenters include:

  • Nathalie Lavoie, resource economics, on supporting student wellbeing.
  • Rachel Mordecai, English, on fostering meaningful discussions.
  • Shannon Roberts, mechanical and industrial engineering, on supporting student success with computational thinking.
  • Yiran Su, sport management, on engaging and assessing student learning.
  • Neena Thota, computer science, on working with TAs.
  • Dhandapani Venkataraman, chemistry, on grading and flexibility.
