Matthew Walsh

Matthew Walsh is a PhD candidate specializing in early modern literary studies and animal studies. His dissertation seeks to reevaluate devalued modes of relating to animals, including anecdotal, anthropomorphic, or otherwise “amateur” knowledge(s). Special interest is paid to accounts of early modern animal labor and performance and how these accounts challenge orthodox theorizations of animal mind.
