Leslie is a MA/PhD student specializing in Literature with a focus on Renaissance studies and on literature's engagement with various forms of oppression. She earned her bachelor's degree in English from the University of New Mexico, where she developed a passion for exploring how early modern authors addressed social issues through their works. Currently, her research interests center on disability representation, particularly mental illness, in Early Modern literature. She investigates how authors employed both stigmatization and romanticization as literary tools, examining their implications for marginalized identities and society at large. In addition to her research interests, she serves as a REAL fellow and is a teaching associate in the Writing Program.
