Becca Ringle is a PhD student and a Teaching Associate with the Writing Program. Their research focuses on American prison literature, particularly writings by women, queer, and transgender individuals within the context of mass incarceration and social justice. Becca's master's thesis on women's prison zines won VCU's 2023-2024 Outstanding Master's Thesis Award in Humanities and Fine Arts. They are committed to contributing to dialogues on incarceration, identity, and community-based alternatives to imprisonment.
