Severe weather can strike at any time. The National Weather Service (NWS) issues varies alerts to notify communities of significant conditions that may pose a threat to life and property. There are a variety of weather apps available to send notifications, but all of those distribute alerts issued from the NWS. A typical alert will include the type of weather (cold, heat, wind, flooding, etc.), what type of damages and losses may be sustained, and what you should do to protect yourself, including:

Take Protective Action


Watch

Risk of weather hazard in the near feature

Could pose a threat to life/property

Have a Plan of Action


Advisory
